Many veterans forget about their benefits, have misconceptions about eligibility, or think the paperwork is too much of a hassle. The experienced UMUC advisory team can help you understand and navigate your veterans education benefits.

Here’s what’s available to students eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill:

    • Up to 100% of tuition and fees for a four-year, in-state degree.
    • Full-time students receive up to a $2,193/month housing allowance.*
    • Annual book stipend of up to $1,000.

For more information, contact our experienced veterans advisors or visit the VA website.

*Monthly housing allowance as calculated for students taking in-person classes based on a zip code of 20783. For students taking only online courses, the monthly housing allowance is equal to ½ the national average monthly basic housing allowance under the Post-9/11 GI Bill.

We’re proud to participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program. This allows us to bridge the funds gap for out-of-state students when tuition and fees exceed the amount covered by the Post-9/11 GI Bill.

    • Veterans are eligible for this benefit if they are 100% eligible under the Post-9/11 GI Bill.
    • The program allows UMUC to contribute an amount up to 50% of unmet costs, and the Department of Veterans Affairs will match that amount.
    • Because UMUC participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program, up to 100% of eligible veterans’ tuition and fees will be covered.

UMUC offers a large number of exclusive scholarships to veterans, their spouses, and their dependents. Check with one of our veterans advisors to see which you may be eligible for, including:
